Get sorted for September

The worst thing about getting ready for the new year at university is having to spend on stationary, books and equipment.

To help with this, I have managed to find these vouchers to use at W H Smiths. They entitle you to the following:

  1. £5 off when you spend £15 on stationary and cards
  2. £5 off when you spend £15 on kids books
  3. £5 off when you spend £25 in store (Not including Mobiles, CD's, DVD's and games)
  4. £5 off when you spend £20 on books (excluding kids books)
Wow! Get down to W H Smiths now, as stationary and books are essentials for university, so no matter when you buy them it will still set you back some cash. But with these vouchers you can save £5 off it!! Even if what you want to buy doesnt come to the £15, get some extras as more paper or pens will come in handy throughout the year. So stock up on them now while you can get £5 worth of stuff for free!!

This offer is only available until the 12th July 2009, so that gives you roughly 3 weeks to get stuff sorted for university...early!

Heres the link to the vouchers. Just print them off, cut them out and show them when purchasing your stationary or books.

Budget....done!! Now to try and "earn" some money

Okay, so now that you have used the budget calculator in yesterdays post, are you happy with this budget?

Being a student, probably not, more money is always better. So before you start university in September make sure that you have got everything that you are entitled too. Most universities offer some form of bursary or grant, this is an income amount that you never need to pay back!! Sounds tempting, right?

There is no catch here, it is just the universities way of saying thanks for joining our university, heres some cash to help buy books (read: alocohol), equipment and stationary.

If you live away from university you may also be entitled to travel expenses paid for! So its worth checking out even if you think you won't get anything. As many courses will provide their students with a grant to purchase books and other bits and bobs. So check it out now, and make sure you know how to apply for the specific grant from your university by September!!

Even if its as little as £50 its better than nothing!! Check it out below...

Woah woah woah, free food?

Revolution is a large chain of bars popular in many university cities. It offers a wide range of food and drink. Although it can be a little on the pricey side at times, when they have offers on like this it seems hard not to refuse.

Are you a member of a university society or sports club? Just prove this to the staff at a Vodka Revolution bar by presenting your society card or kit, and your university ID and you will get a free margherita pizza and a drink. Not a bad deal if you ask me!

The only catch here is that it must be a group of four or more of you, so after the game or training session, pop into revs between 3 and 5pm to get your free pizza.

It must be on a Sunday for sports or Wednesday for socieites though, apart from the tight time and day schedule, this offer is a must for any students who are a member of any society.

Edit: I forgot to mention that there is also a free drink with this offer, so no need to buy one of the pricey drinks available, just stick to what is included in this great offer.
